I’m Back-k-k-k-k-k!

April 23, 2010

I made it! After having three heart attacks, major open heart surgery in July 2006 (five bypasses) and then another open heart surgery just this past month on March 12, ’10  ( a new mitral valve replacement) I am still alive and kicking! (I must have had wayyyy too much fun in the 60’s & 70’s!)

Apologies for neglecting this website for so long but the past 15 months or more have been tough with a variety of health issues (heart, lungs, liver, kidneys). But we made it through, feeling pretty good and the wife says June 1 I can start kicking butt and taking names on this website (married to a nurse…*sigh*….. and she always sides with the doctors! Go figure.) soon as I am 100%, which won’t be long.

My thanks to Dr. Paulowski (my cardiologist) and Dr. Novoa (heart surgeon) and their staffs in addition to Aultman Hospital in Canton, OH. Want your life saved? Go to Aultman!

Check back in, lots more to add (Music Hall, Agora, Public Hall memories, and m-o-r-e!).

  1. Glad to hear you’re ok. Keep up the good work.

  2. I was thinking about you just last night for no apparent reason, sir! Just checked here at random because of that and lo and behold!

Best of luck with the recovery! Keep us informed and when you’re back for good (and you will be) I will be happy to help spread the word.

  3. we just assumed you kicked the bucket a year and a half ago and no one wanted to tell us– welcome back to the world of the living (unless you now have a taste for flesh or blood or brains… then you can stay on your side of the blog)

  4. Doc it sounds like it’s a good thing that your wife is a nurse! Someone to keep you in line and make sure you are following doctor’s orders.
Been out of touch too long and didn’t have a clue you had gone through all this. Great to hear that your recovery is coming along so well. Keep it up.

  5. You’ve been through a lot. I’m glad to have found your blog. Keep kicking butt!
